The Most Inspiring Work I’ve Seen In Years

I just watched the following video and have to say I think it is possibly the most inspiring work I’ve seen in years. Not the content, as interesting as it is, so much as the achievement. Sometimes I get an idea and I hem and haw about it because of the amount of work involved in getting the props or actors together to make it happen. And here, Blu has created this tomb, a massive investment of energy and time.

I would classify this as Meta Art. Though the surreal images, gruesome at times, are interesting, what effects me as it unfolds is imagining it being created, the world happening around the creation. I love that they photograph so much of the surrounding area and include several images where people are walking by.

Motu makes me want to get off my ass and go make art.

  1. My exact words, after watching the video were, “Oh my God,” then I laughed, and then I kept saying,”Oh my God,” and “amazing.” I’ve never seen anything quite like it. What a way for me to start my day.

  2. that was utterly amazing.

  3. Good art? That is in the eyes and mind of the beholder. Technically difficult to do? Indeed, yes! Interesting? Well… Maybe not.

I found myself nodding off every so often. In the end this was seven and one half minutes of my life that I wish I had back.

If you viewed this and were inspired by it that is great. Everyone has the right to their opinion and enjoyment of art. My comments are not intended to condem anyone.

  4. E.A.Poe
you just spent an extra 7 minutes talking about it.

  5. Its stunning video but it would be so much more interesting if the artist told a real story by means of the art he creates
after reading E.A. Poe’s comment I thought about the movie again (i’ve seen it before) and i now can see that the main point of attention is in my opinion the diversity and the dynamic of the form
still i love the video ;)

  6. I cannot fathom just how much time and effort went into making that video. I, too, kept whispering “amazing” to myself while watching. I can definitely appreciate its artistic sense and value.
