It is impossible to tear your eyes away, I'll give it that. I know it's an amazing technological feat, but the kids still look like weird doll-bots. I also think it'd be funnier if the skaters were old people doing tricks. But that's kinda been done, so, to sum it up: yuck. Yuck.

I've been in those kind of pitch meetings. They go something like: "So we've got some of the worlds greatest poets drinking evian and it helps them see the world more clearly making their poems--" Then the executive says, "Perfect. That's exactly what we're looking for. But instead of poets can it be extreme skaters?" The person pitching says, "Oh. Okay. Yeah. I guess that's better. Sure." Then the executive says, "Oh, and remember that dancing baby from the Internets? See if he's available." Another executive says, "But he's probably grown up to be a dancing teenager by now." The first executive says, "Well maybe he's had a baby. Teens have babies every day, you know!" Next thing you know. That's what you got. Ha! I’ve been in those kind of pitch meetings. Well, it's certainly an odd commercial, and might be in direct competition with some of the new Burger King ads for strangest television spot of the year. I've gotta' admit, some of the young skaters in the Evian ad remind me of "Chucky" from the Child's Play series of movies ("Seed of Chucky" a/k/a: "Chucky Gets Lucky" being my favorite), and I'd love to know just how the animation/motion capture was accomplished for this commercial. As a brief aside, can you imagine the pitch meeting for this? THAT must have been crazy. Matt Creepiest ever?
