Weekend Inspiration – Fake It!
Alright. This is short one for me and a long one for you. I know a lot of you out there (not you, but the other guy) aren’t actually taking a lot of deep, meaningful, artsy photographs. You want to but you’re too scared to cross that bridge – well not you but the other guy. Well here’s where I set you free.
This weekend I want you to grab some props from around your house, anything that could imply a deeper meaning, you know, stuff with symbolism like money, or a broken mirror, or underpants, whatever, just grab a bunch of items that have symbolism. Don’t over think it! In fact, don’t think about it at all. A pair of dice? Sure. Grab ‘em. A cherry? Absolutely. A broken egg? Heck yeah! Whatever you want. Hell, you can do it as a portrait, have someone do an unexpected expression that hints at something going on. Slap them altogether into one image and make it really look like it means something.
What are you trying to say with this image? Nothing! Don’t try to say a single thing. But if you do it right your audience will think you are one deep thinker.
Shoot a couple of these and the next thing you know you might actually start saying something with your hidden, or not so hidden meanings.
Nice!
